Good vision is vital for the learning and development of your child.
If you are concerned about your child’s vision, here are some signs to lookout for.
Screwing up eyes or frowning when reading
or watching TV
Losing track while reading
Behavioural or concentration problems at school
Frequent blinking and eye-rubbing
One eye turning in or out
There is little evidence to back up this assumption. Wearing spectacles simply helps you to see clearly and comfortably. If a child needs spectacles when young (before 7 or 8 years old), not wearing them may do them permanent harm as they may develop a lazy eye.
Childrens eye examinations are covered by the NHS. The NHS voucher scheme contributes to the cost of children’s spectacles regardless of your income
